These four small children of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Califoux were in fact being advertised after the family fell on hard times in 1948. Jobless and with an eviction notice, a pregnant Lucille and Ray Califoux did not have enough money to feed their children.
It would be years before any of them saw each other again.
