Fifty Pieces of Silver -- Cedar Fire Research

While the novel Fifty Pieces of Silver is not about the Cedar Fire itself, the story begins in the last days and progresses through the aftermath faced by Julian, CA and other communities. This of course required some research, and since I have all of it gathered in one place, if felt that creating this repository might help other researchers.

What drew me to this setting is that while the fire itself was devastating, the aftermath of the fire was in many respects more devastating to the people who went through the process. Homes were lost, and many people died, but the efforts at recovery by those we would most expect to put forth effort, have in many ways still failed to arrive. Also, there were many valiant efforts made by groups and individuals which were not looked for, but were certainly welcome. So I wanted to make sure that those people, all of them, were thanked and appreciated.

The novel touches on many of these points, but there are so many stories involved in the fire, the aftermath, and the communities, that I wanted to also preserve some of these, not only for my own research needs, but also to remind us that the story is continuing, and in many ways the fire itself continues to burn.

The research was gathered from many places on the web, and I've tried to cite these sources as much as possible. If you find a source that was not cited feel free to let me know and I'll make the correction as soon as possible. My experience with Internet sources is they often disappear overnight. I didn't want this to happen with the ones I have gathered here.

This is also a growing repository, I am adding to these pages as I go through research and updating them as I can.
