Freelance Writer Tip #7 — Don’t Be Deceived by the Dregs

I ran across a posting by a guy named Brian Perdue, who writes:
Also look at the price of their work, if they are wanting $50 for an article then the article best bring in not just traffic but sales! Most freelance writers average price for an article of 600 words is between $4-$10 an article. In my opinion $10 is too much! I found a great team of US Writers that write high quality articles for $3.75 an article. Plus their articles brings me sales and lots of traffic!
If you are getting great writing for $3.75 an article, then you are getting block-and-copied material… no one can live writing 600 word articles for $3.75 each. I don’t care who you are.
So, … just to back this up, I run a Copyscape.com check on the front page of this blog … and guess what? — yep.. doesn’t take brain surgery does it… or even a very good detective.
Don’t be deceived, as a Freelance Writer, by guys like this; they are either flat out lying, or being ripped off themselves, and just don’t know it yet.
If you are writing 600 word articles for less than $10.00 each, you aren’t even making minimum wage... not if you are writing original, well written, effective web content. Give value for your work, but it is a two way street.
