About Glenn Hefley

Glenn Hefley is a freelance writer and programmer living in San Diego with his 17 year old son and a cat named Eddie. He worked as a Google Answers Researcher for 4 1/2 years, and has 15 years experience in computer programming and System Administration for wide area networks.

Certified by IBM and Informix as a Database Administrator, Microsoft as a Systems Administrator, and Comdial as a phone systems administrator, Glenn Hefley understands, works with and can describe complex software concepts in layman terms, with most database, server, and telephone systems. Heavy experience PHP, Perl, and Actionscript (Flash), he also has several years in building and maintaining web sites of all sizes.

In 2003 Glenn returned to his first love, the world of writing. Since that time, while he has kept his programming and networking skills up-to-date, he spends most of his time as a freelance writer.

A current client of his D-A-L.com has several articles from him extending back to December of 2005. Hiring him to write three articles a week for the web site, Glenn quickly took the initiative adding Flash demonstrations to the articles, improving reader interest and communication, and designed the newsletter which has been a huge success for the web site.

He also designs and maintains the Scarn.com web site, where he extends into the realm of fantasy and fiction creations focused on RPG. The Scarred Lands world is a very popular game set, which he became involved with, and brought the web site to a very high standing on the search engines, despite the vast competition of the game world. A long time lover of the RPG worlds of Dungeons and Dragons, Glenn designs games, fictional stories and game tactics for the web site, which as made it a very popular area, attracting players from all over the world. He is also creating an eNovel titled "Shadow Dance" which is a work in progress, publishing a chapter or more per month. The publication is extremely popular, with a growing interest (much more than Glenn imagined when he started it).

Currently he is also working with Don Winslow, a national best selling author to create and maintain his web presence. Mr. Winslow had the unfortunate luck to be in the same field with another man of the same name, who writes very graphic, and ungraceful pornographic novels. While certainly in agreement with the right to create and publish what you wish to, Don Winslow wanted to create a web presence and position which would clearly define him from the other writer.

Having no web site at all in December of 2005, Glenn created a web presence for Don Winslow, and maintained that plan, placing the author in the top listing for the name search on Google, as well as several other search engines. Glenn also put out a large presence for Mr. Winslow's novels, The Power of the Dog, The Winter of Frankie Machine (soon to be a movie with Robert De Niro) and The Death and Life of Bobby Z (again, soon to be a major motion picture release).

Glenn is currently writing a novel "Fifty Pieces of Silver" which will be published in 2007. While working on this fictional crime/thriller he is building a repository of the research, interviews and other information gathered during the novels creation.
