The Tip Sheet for Freelance Writers

Starting out as a Freelance writer can be more than a little confusing. What do you bid? How much should you bid? How do you keep your stats on the Freelance web sites up?

To help answer these questions, I've been putting togther a set of tips which I'm posting on my blog. The Freelance Writer tips listed here, are some of the more important ones I've put together, which will give you are good start on your new career.

Freelance Writer Tip #1 : Version Piracy

Providing re-writes for your articles is an expected service. While I find it counter-productive to remind the client in my bids that I'm more than willing to provide re-writes, there is another side of this issue you should be aware of, and safe-guard against...

Freelance Writer Tip #7 — Don’t Be Deceived by the Dregs

Clients and others will often post and argue that writing is not a skill, and therefore should not be paid for as a skill. There is a reason for this: Not only is writing a real skill, which requires education, talent and experience, but They Need Your Skill. On the Internet, Content is King. Never for get that, and don't believe those who try to tell you different.

Freelance Writer Tip #14 -- Acquistion Rate

Your Acquistion Rate is a Primary matrix on Guru.com, and so it is important to keep this number high, but even if you are not working off Guru.com, your acquisition rate is important, it is the level of effectivness you have in acquiring new clients. So there is a whole set of posts on this subject, as (in my mind) it is more important than any other rating tool we have as a measure of profitability.
